Juggling BF

Time flies. Kayleen is going to be 6months soon which means I have bf her for a good 6months! Wow! Didnt imagine myself to breeze thru it. Honestly, bf is very tiring. Very deprived of sleep. Like right now, Im waiting to pump before I sleep. I feel guilty whenever I missed my 'pumping' time cos that means I will have less bm for Kayleen. For example, I shld have 30ml for every hr..if Im pumping at 5hrs interval, I should have 150ml but sometimes I get so busy, I get to pump like 2 or 3 hrs after my usual schedule, I probably will end up with 30-50ml bm lesser.

Therefore, travelling is a headache for me cos I usually want to hurry home to express the bm. Even our recent trip to Labis (Malaysia), we skipped the idea of going to Malacca bcos I was worried that it will affect my bm expressing schedule. We havent tried going anywhere beyond our house except inlaws' place yet so I really duno how to handle expressing bm if we go KL? The thought of bringing all the pumping barang and the washing, sterilising etc at a foreign place is enought to turn me off...

Hmmm.... so when will I be going for my holiday again?

Without mommy in this pic, it looks like Trenyce is taking care of her 2 siblings by herself heh.... Hubby said Im a 'stepmother' and Trenyce is cinderalla....haha
Imagine if all sleeping together on the same bed...

Kayleen & her siblings (24 Sep 2009)

This was the first time Kaden took a pic with Kayleen. We dont usually let them take together cos worried that Kaden may accidentally 'injured' the sister. But anyhow, nothing happens. This is a good start and trust that many more will come hehe!

Many said both of them look alike. Do they?

Hand Foot Mouth Diease (5-13th Oct 2009)

I got a shock of my life when the paed announced that Kaden has contracted HFMD. It started on Monday when he had mild fever but he recovered from it very quickly the very next day after having only 2 doses of panadol syrup. On Tuesday night, when hubby was changing Kaden into pajamas….he saw all the ‘bubbles’ and rashes all over his nappy area. We were stunned. The first thing that came to our mind is if that is chickenpox but that certainly doesn’t look like chickenpox! Insect bites? FIL concluded that it was some insect bites after taking a look at his buttock. We started applying papaya cream at his affected area diligently and at the same time searching our brain for any possible reasons for the unidentified rashes. On Wednesday, MIL and FIL came up with another possible reason – fish, was it the fish that he had eaten was ‘poisonous’? I told MIL it was impossible bcos those were the fishes he had been eating all along, I did not introduce new fish species in his diet. On Thursday, realizing that we are unable to identify the problem source…we decided to bring him to see Uncle Anthony. So imagine the shock we got…especially since he has not even attended playgroup or childcare!

Not without doubt, Trenyce got it as well. Since they have been playing together all the while and we did not isolate them. Trenyce had mild fever on Wednesday morning and like Kaden, she recovered from it very quickly, also after taking only 2 doses of panadol syrup.

Luckily, little Kayleen did not contract the diease. We quarantined her in the room. The kids and their caretaker (MIL) are not supposed to enter the room where Kayleen is sleeping as that is her only roaming area. Trapped in her own room for a good 6 days before she could get close to her siblings. This is also when I truly realized the goodness of breastmilk. I believe it is the breastmilk she has consumed all along prevented her from getting the diease!

All in all, their HFMD were considered mild. Kaden, the carrier, had the most 'bubbles' appeared on his buttock, some on his mouth, hand and feet. No wonder he complained 'mouth pain pain' but we dissolve his complain thinking that its impossible for him to have mouth ulcers since he did not consume anything spicy or fried. Trenyce only had 2 littler red dots appeared on her feet, one red dot on each foot and also with mild mouth ulcers.

Really thank god that theirs was a mild case. I have seen worst from the MOH website. It certainly looks many times more scary.

Thank you Lord for all the blessings you have bestowed to the family little ones. Amen. Mood: Sad Milestone: 20 months old

Happy 4months old to Kayleen!

Kayleen turns 4mo today! The day I officially return to work.
I gave her her 'drumstick meal' yesterday...according to the elderly bb can start eating solids from 4mo onwards hence giving them a drumstick is to signify that. Anyway, I dont intend to give her any solids till she turns 6mo! =p

Three Fun-filled Days at Haydairy Goat Farm, Qian Hu Fish Farm and Vivocity ! (5th – 7th Sept 2009)

It was the September school holidays again. Initially, we were thinking of going to msia but dropped the idea eventually bcos there’s simply too many things to bring with an infant less than 3mo. On top of that, the thought of handling breastfeeding overseas…oh well, the thing is I don’t latch her directly for each feed. I expressed n Kayleen drinks from the bottle hence there’s quite a lot to pack. So instead we stayed in spore n I planned 3 days of fun filled activities for my two kiddies.

On day one, we went to the farms. We covered the famous Haydairy Goat Farm n Qianhu Fish Farm. It was Kaden’s fist visit n we can see that he was pretty amazed with the things he had seen but what really caught his attention was the trucks n lorries he saw along the way to the farms as we passed thru the industries to our destination. He was so excited that he forgot his pacifier. Yes, at one point of time, he got so bored in the car n kept pestering for his pacifier. That’s my boy haha…

The kids are not allowed to go near the goats to feed them....what a pity!

On day two, we went to Vivocity. We let the kids played at the playground n went to Toyrus n got them a toy each. The kids enjoyed the 5minutes horse ride the most. It was not feat juggling the horsie as the kid has to move his entire body to ‘move’ the horse. Trenyce and Kaden both sat on one horse each, needless to say…Kaden needs help from mommy again. Mommy, which is yours truly, literally pushed him around the place. He enjoyed it tremendously but poor mommy was dead tired! Haha…….

On day three, we went to Pasir Ris Escape Theme Park. Its our first visit. It costs us $50 to bring the entire family (including Ester) although Kaden and Kayleen are foc. Trenyce enjoyed the most as most of the games are catered for her age whereas Kaden only got to watch jiejie playing the games. The only few games he managed to play are - sitting in the tootoo train and the mini ferris wheel, driving the car and some kiddy rides. The most exciting game, I would say, is the Gocart. Papa and Trenyce queued for a long time for their turn. Its actually quite unlike papa cos he normally doesn’t have the patience to wait but this time, for the sake of his child, he does so. The power of children on parents is amazing! Papa said this is a well worth trip and I do agree! =)

Sometimes, staying in Spore can be quite fun too if you spend some effort to do some planning! Of course, the price is equivalent to, for example, if you spend a night or two in those resort places in Malaysia but sometimes, it can’t be helped! With 3 kiddies? Spare me! Hehe..

The tootoo train...

The mini ferris wheel...papa said its moving very slow till Kaden kept asking him to 'go down' but they cant as they are "hanging in the air"..hahaha

Papa and jiejie driving the race car...

Everyone still looking fresh after a long day at the theme park. Smile!

17 weeks 'holiday'

My 16 weeks maternity leave is coming to an end soon. How time flies when u re submerged in blissfulness! Yes its very tiring mentally n physically cos I hv only abt 5hrs of sleep every day n no caffine allowed since Im on breastfeeding. I enjoyed the time spent caring for my little ones n watching them crossing their every milestone more than anything else. I suppose this is a rare opportunity for me to get 'close and personal' with my kids for this long.

Although Im spending most of my time (its 24hrs) taking care of Kayleen (well, to be fair the leave I gotten in a way “originated” from her), I tried to squeeze time for my other two kids. I will try to cook lunch for Trenyce n bath her after she returned from school. I tried to play with Kaden as his bathing n meal times will either clash with Kayleen or Trenyce. All these done amidst my very bz bf schedule cos I need to express bm every 4hrly if possible. Honestly, Im v thankful for the 16weeks ml given by govt (additional week is from my annual leave),its really nice to hv these much time to care for our bb. Babies are usually more settled in their 3rd or 4th mth. Hence my mind is more at ease when I returned to office or rather Im v ready to return to work. The only thing is I cant bear to part with my little one. I can really feel the big difference as I wasnt able to spend as much time with my two elder kids hence I got v excited when I was the first to witness kayleen‘s milestones like im a brand new mother all over again. I saw kayleen grabbing things, screaming in excitement, ‘answering’ me when I talked to her, turning herself…well, all these would not have been possible if Im away at work. Oh! Sound like I may try for a fourth one..hahah...well, no not yet! haha...

Taxi?

We went to amk hub today for dinner to celebrate Trenyce‘s birthday. It wasnt easy going out with 3 kiddies without a car. Hence we decided to go without the strollers, just 5 of us, the maid n 2 bags in a taxi. Interestingly, after returning from our amk hub outing… hubby n myself do realized that we can ‘live‘ without a car. And a taxi fits our family just nicely. Not a single seat more...value for money...haha...

Can consider...mayb....

Days without a Car

Hubby met an accident on last Monday. Luckily he wasn’t injured but I couldn’t said the same for our car. The chassis was ok but the car doors (right side) n the bumper were badly damaged. The doors couldn’t be opened n we can only go in from the left doors including the driver seat. The workshop said it will take at least 10 to 11 working days to complete the repair. Sigh what a timing, its long weekend when we need the car most! Moreover, we are going to zoo on Sunday, for Trenyce‘s birthday outing. In the end, we took bus 138 to the zoo and taxi back home as everyone was too tired, on top of that it was drizzling at the time we were leaving. During these periods where we have to ‘live’ without the car, we noticed something interesting abt Kaden. He is a country pumpkin who hasn’t taken taxi before. He refused to board the taxi on 3 occasions – once we went to amk hub and once to Hougang Point, both for marketing purposes, and once back home from zoo. It was only the fourth time, on Trenyce’s birthday, he became nonchalant about taking a taxi to-and-fro amk hub. Haha....

Kayleen full month celebration

We dont intend have a grand one this time for Kayleen's full month celebration as we just had one last year for Kaden. We wanted to have a simple meal with our family and decided to have it at Peach Garden Restaurant located at Thomson Plaza. Hassle free, dont have to clear up like a maddie after food. It was also the first time we took 3 kids out! Quite action-packed but glad that everything went smoothly.

Misses my ah boy

Kaden follows my inlaws back to Labis for 2 weeks (13/6-27/6) when I was having my confinement. Although yes, without him at home, I really get to rest and recuperate....however I really miss him especially since this was the 1st time he's away from us for this long. During this period he was away, we called everyday but the little boy still doesnt really know how to converse in the phone and hence we dont really get to talk at all. *sad*

Can you understand how a mother feels when ur little boy whom u take pains to take care ignore u? Well, this is just the begining of me not going to have enough time for him with Kayleen around......sigh... Mood: Sad Milestone: 18 months old

Conquering BF

I am now doing partial (50%) bf for Kayleen. Bf really takes alot of time and effort and SLEEP! LOL

She is currently having EBM during the day and FM during the night. I managed to express about 4-5 bottles of EBM (@100ml) a day. I am now expressing at 3 to 4hrly interval, sometimes 2hrly...whenever I am free. I hope to be able to express more in the coming days otherwise wont be able to catch up with her growth spurt....and hopefully she will be fully bf eventually!

I must persevere! Mood: super duper tired and wearout

Kayleen has jaundice

As like all other babies, Kayleen also has this jaundice issue. In fact, paed doesnt encourage us to bring her home on the day of discharge and wanted her to stay in hospital for phototherapy but we insisted to bring her home to do suntanning for her ourselves. We believed that jaundice is normal for babies and with the help of the sunny sun in the month of june, we should have no problem helping Kayleen to fight this jaundice war. Her toleance level then was btw 8-9 and hers was 9.1 when discharged.

Kayleen was scheduled for visit to the paed's clinic though for review. I dont mind that. At least I get to bring my bb home and take care of her myself. Kayleen was a rather drowsy bb for the first few days at home. She could sleep for 4-5 hrs without waking up for her milk. We have to wake her every 3hrs for her feed cos dehydration will affect her recovery. I also do know that bf will hinder her recovery from jaundice so I allowed formula at night, also partly bcos I dont have much milk then. The first visit back to paed, her rating was 12.7 when tolerance level was 14. Paed asks us to go for 2nd review in 4days' time. Her rating was 11 at the 2nd visit to paed when tolerance level was 16. Paed clears the jaundice but warns us to continue sunbathing her for the next 2 weeks and ensuring she has sufficient fluid. Phew!

Kayleen 妹妹 has arrived!

My wish came true. Kayleen 妹妹 did arrived "the very next day" according to gynae =p In fact, I was admitted to hospital right after finishing blogging on my gynae visit as the contractions were coming more and more intense....from 15 mins to 10 mins interval. So I decided to give the clinic a call and was told to admit my self immediately as 3rd bb usually comes pretty fast!

I quickly called hubby, who's still buzy washing his car at the carpark, to come back and send me to hopsital. Then I went for a good shower, took my bag and waited for hubby to return. By the time I reached the hospital, it was already 4.30pm. When I finally settled down in the delivery ward, its about 5pm. The nurse checked on my dilation and announced that its already 5cm dilated. Dr Goh arrived shortly, bursted my waterbag and told hubby that I would deliver in 2hrs' time then he left. Before he left, he told the nurse to call him on his mobile to update him on any progress.

Then suddenly the room was very quiet, everyone had left the room, including hubby, leaving me alone in the room. All I could hear was my breathing and the sound from the 'laughing mask'. The pain became more intense and I could vividly feel the 'push'. Hubby came back after completing the hospital registeration. I told him I feel like pushing the bb out and asked him to get the nurse. When the nurse came in, she did some checks and asked me to 'push' slowly while waiting for Dr Goh to come.

Dr Goh came and everyone started to get busy. Everything was happening so fast that I couldnt remembered much of what they are doing. All I remembered was that I was already pushing bb and the pain was intolerable! For the first time, I was screaming and shouting while delivering. BB Kayleen eventually arrived at 5.44pm, barely an hr after I was admitted to hospital. If I didnt make the call to the clinic, I probably ended up delivering at home! Can you imagine?

BB Kayleen weighs 3.515kg and 49cm long. The heaviest amd the shortest among her siblings heh! Well, thats doesnt matter, most impt is I have gotten a healthy bb! God bless!

Today may be the day

Went to see doctor goh yesterday for my weekly routine checkup. All's well with 妹妹. Head engaged already. Dr said there wont be any weight measurement as its not accurate by now anyway she shld be +- 300grams from the last visit. Her weight was around 3.2kg then. She could jolly well ended up in the same weight range as her two elder siblings! They were about 3.5kg when borned. I asked Dr goh when's the soonest and longest will I expect the bb to pop since her head has already engaged? His answer was 'tmr' possibly or sometimes as long as one week. Tmr! Wow, sound very exciting for me...I wish I wish!

My wish may just come true today. Felt slight contractions this morning. It wasnt intense and came on-off about every hour or so. That was around 7+am. Walked to nearby market for breakfast and felt the contractions again. The contractions were closer around 11+am and came around once betw every 15 mins. This went on till 2pm. Now its coming around every 15 to 30mins. Saw a slight tinge of brown discharge in the morn but no sign of blood or anything and only once in the morn. Hmm.....
Duno...but looks like its the sign. Got hubby to standby and inlaws to bring mobile phone with them whenever they go out just in case.......Also called the confinement auntie to standby.

Did a checking on my hospital bag again. Everything shld have been packed inside already. I hope I didnt miss out anything. Shldnt I guess. The thing is this time Im packing based on experience and not with checklist. Very "gung ho" huh..hehe =p

Well, wait for my good news!

Playing doctor for the week

I am officially resting at home since Wednesday but I didnt really get to rest. This whole week I have been busy taking care of my 'patients' at home.

It started with hubby running very high fever of above 38 degrees on Monday and taking panadol prescribed by his company doctor didnt help as the fever remained at the same level for the entire day. So I quickly brought him to see another doctor which is near our place when I returned from work. The doctor gave him a stronger panadol and antibiotics. Alas, it didnt help either...his fever was at 39.3degrees at its peak. I had to resort to sponging him. I even got him to take a cold bath to help relieve the fever. When it didnt help (fever maintained at 39 degrees), I called the clinic again as its operated 24hrs. I was advised to feed hubby another dose of panadol, the normal kind, 2 to 3 hrs after taking the strong panadol. I did as instructed. That was close to 1am. Thank god, his fever came down at 2am. For the rest of the days, his fever didnt come back again but he was feeling rather weak. He had three days mc and finally returned to work on Thursday.

As Trenyce was sharing room with hubby. She was put away to sleep with the grandparents during these three days. Then on Thursday morn, the same day hubby was fit to return to work, MIL dropped me a bomb. She told me Trenyce was having fever and had given her panadol at 2am. Oh my! Her fever symptom was exactly like hubby. Her fever was at the range of 38 to 39 degrees and it persisted the whole day even Nurofen and sponging didnt help. We decided to bring her to the clinic when hubby returned from work at 7plus. Hers was at 40degrees when we were at the clinic. So high! Doctor prescribed nurofen, panadol and antibiotics. He didnt recommend the 'buttock medicine' as he said it would affect the liver and hence try not to use if possbile and usually only recommended for younger children not for children as big as Trenyce becos the dosage would be higher for Trenyce. Usually its only one pill inserted but for Trenyce's age, it would be 2 pills.

As usual, I had to play doctor/nurse again. This time, Trenyce swopped room with Kaden. She slept with me the entire night. Her fever was still high after taking Nurofen so I waited for 3hrs to give her another dose of panadol, the normal type. Her fever was down for the rest of the night.

Did I mention that Kaden wasnt feeling well too the same day Trenyce was having fever? Luckily his was not as severe as Trenyce. He had some cough in the morning when he woke up somewhere around 7+am, then developed running nose and mild cough around 9+am. Fed him some panadol and cough mixture. Thank god the medicine was sufficient to control his condition. We didnt have to bring him to see doctor. Guess he was really feeling a tad bit unwell so he was rather grouchy the entire day. Kept requesting for his pacifier and going to the bed to ly.

Anyway, very thankful that all have recovered within the week. Though Kaden still having a little cough other than that all's well for him too. I couldnt imagine if they were still sick when I had to go into labour ward to deliver 妹妹!

Praise the lord! Mood: Thankful

Spending time with my big gal (1st to 2nd May 09)

It was labour day long weekend. Hubby and inlaws, together with Kaden went back to Msia...leaving Trenyce and myself behind. Main reason why we didnt follow for the trip was becos its too close to my EDD and Trenyce has to attend her speech and drama class on Saturday. It has been quite some time since we spent time alone. Good opportunity for me to have some quality time with her.

The first day on our own. We went to CCL Open House for SMRT Staff and Family together with my sister's family. And on the 2nd day, we didnt go anywhere except the usual wknd marketing routine in the morning followed by Trenyce's speech and drama class in the noon. Strangely, Trenyce developed a mild fever after coming back from the market. Fed her some panadol and flu medicine as she complained that she has running nose. Might have caught cold somehow somewhere and most suspicious person is hubby as he has been sleeping with her since furnishing the study room. Well, thats not impt right now...I just hope she will get well tomorrow morning....

Father is 70! (Part I)

FIL turns 70 this year. We brought him to a korean restaurant (Hansang Korean Family Restaurant) at Novena Square2, level 3, to savor some korean dishes since he hasnt had any and so is MIL. This idea came to our mind when we heard them mentioning about the korean cds they had been watching back at home (Labis).

We tried the famous ginseng chicken soup and....

(clockwise from right)1. SSAMBOB: BBQ pork wrapped with lettuce, the purpule rice and the bean paste. The dish comes along with the kimchi soup. 2. Cold Buckwheat Noodles. 3. Dduck Bae Gi: Stewed beef. 4. Dubokgee: Fried Nian Gao. 5. Appetizers (1st dish): Kidney bean, mashed potato, chilli ikan bilis.

Thats becos Missy hasnt finished her food!

Goodbye Vios Hello Odyssey

Bid farewell to my faithful friend today.
She is only 4.5years old. Still so young. Sigh.
Feel a little emotional when she was driven away yesterday.
And still feeling the same when I see her again today.
Shed my tears, actually.
Afterall, she is our very 1st and it has served us well.
Many times, it brought us to-and-fro Malaysia safely, whether rain or shine, never utter a single complaint.
Our family getaways, will never be as fun, without her.
I will miss you, my dearie.
Forever in my memories......

****************

We embraced a new member to our family yesterday.
It was a dream come true.
Although she didnt spend her early years with us, we promise we will still love her dearly as if she was already with us from day one.
I havent got a chance to spend time alone with her yet.
Think maybe not now.
I am not confident that I will be able to handle her as yet.
Maybe. Maybe wait till 妹妹 arrives first.
Anyway, welcome to our big family.
Indeed, a family of 8 (including the domestic helper) is big eh!

The Kiddies' Room

Finally, finally, finally.........
After so much shifting and moving, the furniture are staying for good at this position.
Yes, we are shifting the furniture in the study cum kiddy room again.
It was kiddy room when Kaden was borned and turned back to study room when confinement auntie left.
And now its going to be kiddy room again and this time, its for good and I meant it.
Cos there's no where we can shift the single bed to....hahaha..
For once, Trenyce feels like she has a room of her own.
Well, for a good 8 weeks before 妹妹 arrives.
There will be some minor changes to the sleeping arrangement but the furniture will stay for good.
*Heng ah* Hubby must be very glad he doesnt have to do all the shitty shifting again :p
Well, I'm glad this tricky thing has been solved, so now is just the waiting game....

Easter Long Weekend in Singapore (Jalan Kayu Animal Resort and Downtown East Explorer Kids)

We originally planned for a short trip back to Labis but changed plans last minute and hence spending our Easter long weekend in Singapore instead.

DAY 1: 10th April 2009, FRIDAY, SINGAPOREWe brought the kids to Downtown East on the first day of our long weekend. I have planned to bring them to Downtown East for a long time eversince they renovated and finally did it on Friday. We spent the entire morning at eXplorerkid and even got a chance to taste the chicken rice from the ex-Manadarin Hotel Chef who dished the famous chicken rice from Chatterbox, the shop is called Mr Chicken Rice. Both the kids had lots of fun especially Trenyce. Frankly there are more things for her to play than Kaden (only the toddler play area). But Kaden doesnt seem to mind, he has much fun walking around the big playground;) As the floor is rubberized, you dont have to worry about your little toddler getting hurt from falling hence watching over him is a breeze, all I need to do is to keep an eye on where he is wandering to....

It was still early, so we hanged around the fish pond area. The kids enjoyed watching the fishes.
Kaden弟弟 at the toddler play area.
Trenyce 姐姐 at the Ball'O'City.
Kaden弟弟 climbing up the MegaPlay with 爸爸's help.
Trenyce 姐姐 at the ballpool.
Just an hour at eXplorerkids is enough to wear off the kids' energy. Trenyce was perspiring madly and I stopped her from playing though she insisted that she was not tired. Anyway, we decided to call it off a day when our one-hour time is up. Kaden was also showing some signs of tiredness as he didnt have his usual 3hourly-interval nap yet. We quickly headed for the ground floor where Mr Chicken Rice is located to have our lunch. We were lucky as it wasnt very crowded and we managed to find a seat quite easily. As expected, the boy started to get grouchy midway when I was feeding him, he wasnt cooperating with me. Nevertheless I struggled through the feed and managed to make the cranky boy sleep with a full stomach =p

If you are interested:
1. eXplorerkid at Downtown East level 3, operate from 10am to 10pm on Weekends & PH. Do remember to bring your kids' and your own socks!
2. Mr Chicken Rice at Downtown East level 1, operate from 11am onwards.

**************************************************************************
Day 2: 11th April 2009, SATURDAY, SINGAPORE
We went to Jalan Kayu for a prata feast in the morning. After food, we brought the kids to the nearby Animal Resort. It was our 2nd visit but Kaden's first. He was so very fascinated with the animals he saw at the resort i.e ducks, peacock, dogs of different breeds, goats etc. His favourite though was the ducks and the dogs while Trenyce's favourite was feeding the rabbits with carrots bought at the animal resort.

Day 3: 12th April 2009, SUNDAY, SINGAPORE

We went to Bishan Library in the afternoon. It was Kaden's first visit to a library. He was happy to see so many books surrounding him. Hmm, or maybe he feels like he's in a maze with many bookshelves surrounding him? Anyway, I brought him to the toddler's corner to get some books for him while he stood there 'digging' at the books. When I found him a book, he was happy to walk around the library with the book in his hands. At one point, he even sat down nicely at one of the steps 'reading' his book. =)

Chatty Kaden

Little Kaden has been 'talking' alot recently. He expanded his vocabulary by another two words just 2 days ago. It was "No" and "Kaka" (meaning sister in malay). He will even shake his head when he says "No"..haha. He is also able to call Ester, our domestic helper, "Kaka" these few days and when he hears me mentioning Ester's name, he will shout 'ka ka' after me. Sometimes he will even walk to the kitchen and call her......the whole family is so amused by his reaction...haha...

His 'talking' milestones
His initial first words was 'mum mum' meaning food and 'ah ma' meaning grandmother and for the first few months when he started to babble, he would refer everything as "ah ma" but strangely, not 'mum mum'. Hmmm...interestingly, he is able to associate 'mum mum' as food and nothing else.

Occasionally, he would call me "mom mom" meaning mother, but it wasnt very often =( Then he learnt to call Trenyce as 'jiejie'.

The next word he learnt was 'there'. If you asked him where is ah ma? He will say "there" and point his finger at ah ma. Likewise, if you asked him, for example, "where is the fan?", he will point at the fan and says "there!"

Just two weeks ago, he started calling 'papa' or 'da da' and his pronunciation is getting better everyday and now he can call 'papa' very loud and clear!

And finally, about a week ago, the grandfather finally had his turn to be called. Kaden finally calls the grandfather 'gonggong' hehe!

No wonder people says the 2nd kid usually learns things faster because they get to imitate their siblings. And they really imitate very well! ;)

Yet another milestones for Trenyce!

I am happy that Trenyce is finally joining us at the dinning table. It started about a month ago and somehow got 'cut off' in between when she was down with fever but we resumed the 'schedule' again about 1 week after she recovered when we noticed MIL was cooking porridge for her lunch & dinner again. Besides that, I am also training her to eat by herself as MIL has been feeding her all along in order to "speed things up". I am also trying to expose her to more fruits variety. She has apples, orange juice (with pulp) and honey dew just this week. Out of the three, I would say the third mission is the toughest as she doesnt like fruits so sometimes it really get on my nerves just to get her to 'swallow' the fruits. Nevertheless, I will keep trying.
Added on 12 April 09: Bought some strawberries for girl today, another exciting venture awaiting me....

Dear Lord, pls grant me the patience to bear with all the obstacles faced in getting Trenyce to eat fruits. Amen.

Guilty

How time flies...Im already in my 3rd trimester. Counting down now, 9weeks more to my EDD. Oh not much time left, better hurry to get all my stuff done before 妹妹 comes. It has been tough for this 3rd pregnancy, maybe becos I have to take care of Kaden at the same time and this boy needs alot of attention. Not that he is an attention seeker but rather he is so very active that he keeps knocking his head here and there....just yesterday, he 'earned' himself two 'fifty cents' on his forehead. He is so active that at times I still need to carry him like a baby to feed him his night feed before he goes to bed otherwise he will be struggling with the bottle. Just imagine carrying him with a protruding tummy, tough eh!

Sometimes I do feel very guilty, guilty that I wont be able to spend much time with this boy once 妹妹 arrives. I hope the parenting magazine is right...that siblings with age gap less than 18mths will not feel anything about a new silbing taking some attention away from them. So I am trying to make up now by spending more time with him as well as Trenyce. I wouldnt want history to repeat itself again. I am thinking of setting a timetable or something to allocate my time for the kids. Of course, BB will still get the most attention from me and will be even more so if I BF her. But I wouldnt want to neglect my other 2 children especially Trenyce. I do notice that she needs alot of attention from us and gets upset when her presence is ignored. For Kaden, I guess is he still too young to notice anything and I hope he wont!

I better start working on the timetable thingy soon..

Kaden Vs 妹妹

Just feeling curious about how big is 妹妹 compared to her brother when he was a foetus then. So took their scanned pics and compared....hehe

Looks like 妹妹 is slightly smaller than Kaden in the beginning but managed to catch up later...hmm...
