Testing Testing 123.....Our 1st Family Trip to Pulai Springs Resort

Finally, hubby persuaded me to bring the whole wong gang to have a short getaway at JB Pulai Springs Resort.

The catch: less than an hour car ride from Spore, including going thru the checkpoints.

In fact, its only about 15-20mins drive from JB checkpoint to the resort. We spent most of the time 'jamming' at the JB causeway link. It would have been a calm and peaceful trip if not becos of the cranky boy. He made hell lots of noise in the car and even attempted to bite Ester when his crankiness got over him. It was only when we reached PS then he cooled down. He just hated being tied in the car seat! haha...oh well...

Anyway, the kids enjoyed the 2-bedroom suite especially Kaden. he had fun pressing the TV remote control and climbing up & down the sofa at the hall. Trenyce enjoyed her 'bedroom' for the 2 nights. It was a single bed. I bet she looked forward to have a nice cosy room as such. Well, little girl bear a while longer...daddy and mummy are working on it. Overall, it was a nice break but not so for mummy if you know what I meant. The kids have fun at the swimming pool and playing in the suite. Little Kayleen doesnt have much to do over there, just going kaikai everyday and I suppose thats enough to entertain her for the time being whereas Hubby enjoyed the food at the resort and I think even Ester slept better too.

However, I dont suppose we will visit the place any sooner. Afterall, JP is famous as a golf resort so if you dont play golf over there, its quite a waste! Hence besides a nice golf course, nice food and nice swimming pool, there is literally nothing else to do over there...just idling around loh.

It was, however, a good trial....bringing the whole gang out of town. Hmm...travelling is surely not on our agenda any sooner. haha... Mood: Tiring

拉美斯 Labis (30 Dec 08 – 2nd Jan 09)

After much thinking, we didnt go anywahere for our year end holiday. Ended up in Labis since we havent been there for quite some time, in fact, this was the 2nd time we brought the children back for the year 2008. Wanted to go somewhere whereby the children can take a plane ride but figured it would be really difficult in oy current status plus Kaden is such an active boy! Dragging the lugagges would also be a problem. Well well.....maybe simplicity is bliss.

Anyway, for the 3 days we spent...we really just lazed around at home and only went up to Segamat for dinner on the very last night we were there. Hubby managed to paint our room which I understand from mil that the house had not been painted for more than 30 yrs since they shifted in. Wow! Dont think in spore we would encounter that. I think our house the most tahan 10yrs, then we have to give it a fresh paint already, cannot tahan the ugly paint falling off the wall...guess its our typical sporean habit =p

Kaden and Trenyce had their haircuts in Labis too. Its only RM$5 for each of them, dirt cheap right! It was Kaden's 2nd haircut since borned. We had his hair shaved botak when he was three month old and till then never did we brought him to any barber again. He looked really mature in this new haircut. Well, interestingly his new haircut looks exactly like his daddy's haircut haha!!!

Showing funny faces again, one of his favourite acts nowadays...very cheeky boy

Visiting Great GrandMother (9 Aug 2008)

We brought the kids to visit their paternal great grandmother at Segamat.
Needless to say, it was Kaden's first visit as well.
Hubby's grandmother was very happy when she saw Kaden.

Spending Time at Labis (8-11Aug 2008)

We went back to Labis over the National Day long weekend.
It was Kaden's first 'overseas' trip.
It was my first trip back this year.
All of us enjoyed ourselves.
It was a nice trip.
We havent felt so relaxed for a long time.
Kaden says "Hi" from Labis.

Reaching Labis finally...

Hooray!!! I am finally able to access the blogger!

Yeah, at the time I am writing this entry, I am writing from Labis, Johore. Its a small town stranded between Cheah and Segamat. Does Segamat sounds familar to you? If you have been following the news, yes this is one of the towns in Johore having very severe floods. Even my PILs who wanted to come back here on 21st Dec have problems coming back as the rail service had been terminated and the buses simply couldnt cross over due to the floods. So you can imagine how bad the situation is. They had to make their way back to Singapore and only able to come back the next day after they called up the bus company confirming that there are buses. We also almost couldnt make it here as well as some areas of Yong Peng were still having floods then. It was only passable recently. Plus Spore was also pouring heavily at the time we are setting off. We were quite hestitated at first but knowing our character, we wouldnt give up something we have already planned for, so we decided to set off anyway..

So yes, we are here finally. But it has been pouring on-off that we have to cancel our trip back to Sitiawan which is meant to celebrate hubby's maternal grandmother 80th birthday! ;'( FIL is worried that we will get stuck in the floods and couldnt get back to Singapore on time to return work so for safety reasons, we better stay put. I hope grandma wouldnt be too upset about it...

Anywayz, thanks to the flood. We cant go anywhere. Malacca was affected by the flood so we cant go there for the famous chicken rice or shopping at the Jusco. Tungkat was affected too so we cant go there for the famous beef noodles. Segamat, which was our main source of entertainment was also out...

If you wonder what we have been doing here on this small town for the past 3 days....

Day 1:
Driving around the small town. Part of Labis was also caught in the flood. So we drove around and kaypoh-ing to see how bad the flood was and whether they have cleared up the debris.

Day 2:
This is the only adventure we had so far. We drove to Segamat and visit PIL's friend. Her house was flooded (heard its about 5ft tall)so now she's busy clearing the debris. We also drove around Segamat to witness the "after-flood" situation. It was like a war-torn area.

We bought a mini-pool for Trenyce sometime back at Jusco, so we had some nice time playing water with her.

Day 3:
We stayed at home the whole day. I suppose Trenyce enjoyed the most today. She had some painting time with hubby in the morning then after lunch, we played water with her again at the mini-pool. This time round more exciting as MIL bought her a water gun hehe. Then in the mid-afternoon, Trenyce seems to get a bit bored cos she cant go out and play (It was drizzling outside) so Hubby brought her to a nearby aquarium shop to entertain her.

I suppose Trenyce enjoyed the most from this trip with the "exciting programs" in line for her: doing painting, swimming/playing with water, chasing the birds and getting lotsa of RM$1.00, RM$1.70 or RM$1.90 toys kekeke :p
