Children's Haircut

I liked this pic I took for Trenyce. I specially took this pic for her after trimming her fringe :p Not too bad huh...looked more like Dora now...everyone commented..hehehe..never mind lah...otherwise will cost mummy S$5 just to trim the fringe...exp huh!

Talking about hair cutting....how come its so exp to cut a child's hair huh...hmmm...I always brought Trenyce for haircut when we go back to Labis....there it costs me 5bucks too but its RM$5! And if only trimming the fringe, its just RM$1! Cheap like mad huh...where am I going to get less than S$1 haircut in Spore!?!?!

Arguing again....

It was one of the days again I had a quarrel with hubby over Trenyce.

We brought Trenyce to Centerpoint today and she accidentally hurt herself at the escalator. I wasnt with her at that time as I was browsing around at the concourse on the offered items. Hubby was not interested and had brought her to 2nd floor to look for PILs. As I was movng near the escalators, I could hear some child crying. When I realised that it was my girl, I quickly catch up with them. It was some light but unsightly bruises caused by the sharp end of the escalator steps.... Little girl was still crying when I managed to catch up with them. There was small little blood markings on her leg, so I quickly apply some aloe vera on her leg to soothe her crying.

********************

I totally forgotten about the incident until the time when I was dresing Trenyce, preparing her for bed and saw the bruises again. I was quite upset that she got 'disfigured' again and grumbled a little at hubby. But instead of apologising, hubby blew his top and scolded me, saying that I left him with the girl and he had to hold his drink with the other hand...blabblabblab and couldnt manage properly that caused the incident. I was really mad that he shifted his responsibility away. Does that mean anyone with one hand full of things, will not be held responsible for the child's safety? Luckily it was just some light bruises this time round, what if it wasnt? The argument got really heated and worst of all, we quarrelled in front of Trenyce. We only stopped the argument when Trenyce started crying and telling hubby at the same time "dont scold my mummy"......

Then I just held her hand and brought her to the room to sleep quietly....

Normally, for situations like this, we dont apologise to each other instantly....we just let the anger goes off by itself. I wonder if its good but if we continue to argue over it, it doesnt prove to be any healthier to the relationship either.....Thank goodness, the anger usually doesnt last for more than a day and we will apologise the next day when we cool down.

Carrot Artwork

Eversince the day I made some star carrots for my udon dish...Trenyce has fallen in love with the shapey carrots. One of the nights, over dinner, she made a request to me: "Mummy, can you make some more star carrot for me?". Of course, I couldnt reject my little sweetheart and made her some straight away after the dinner. I have not ony made the star carrots, I have heart and flower carrots as well...with the remaining spare pieces chopped finely...all for MIL to put into her porridge. These are enough to last her for 4 days' cooking.

Before I start working on the carrots, I have promised Trenyce painting session. Hence I decided to keep the 'tail' of the carrot to make into a star, using the vege cutter (the one in the middle), for Trenyce's painting session. Picture at the far bottom shows the final artwork done by Trenyce!

Trenyce uses Skype!

These are images of Trenyce deep in conversation with hubby using Skype. I used the video camera, which we used to "video conferencing" with huddy, to snap these expressions. Trenyce was very engrossed in the conversation with hubby, didnt know the mummy is up to some mischief again...hehehe

Going diaperless

Trenyce has been showing signs recently...not sign language lah :p I mean she is better able at controlling her bladder. Thats really a piece of good news huh.....

Several other signs:

1. She refuses to pee in her disposable diapers when we go out either shopping or dinning at some food places.

2. She wakes up from her afternoon nap and comes to us, telling us she wants to pee.

3. Her disposable diaper is all dry from her afternoon naps for the past week.

4. She enjoys peepee and poopoo in the toilet.

5. She hardly wets herself at home nowadays. She can control till we bring her to the potty or toilet.

Initially I wanted to train her go diaperless by constantly forcing her to pee in the potty, pressurizing her and myself. In the end, my bed duno got wet how many times, changed how many bedsheets, got super upset with the little girl for "misbehaving", got super stress worrying that she may not be able to ditch the diapers......in a way, kind of strain our relationship with each other as I would start scolding her whenever I get upset over it. It was hubby, on seeing us trying so hard, who suggested to abort the diaperless training so that we all can sleep in peace (he can as well so that he doesnt have to change the bedsheets that frequently :p). In the end, I gave up. Well, you can imagine how delighted I am when I heard from MIL today when I returned from work that Trenyce is able to control her bladder thru the night! And 1st thing 1st in the morning when she woke up, she marched straight to PILs telling them she wanted to pee. According to MIL, the potty was quite full :p

Hmmm...which means the kids will actually know when they are ready to be diaperless eh. So Mummies, we dont really have to hurry them and add stress to ourselves! Oh boy! I am so relieved now!

Conversation

Had a conversation with Trenyce earlier on, on the bed. Its just a habit of ours, chatting about whats happening during the day on the bed before we sleep. Then we will say bedtime prayer and go to bed. Most of the times, the conversations we had do not have any conclusions and the string of events also do not seem to have any connection at all.

The dialogue goes:
Me: Did you go out with Gong2 and Ah Ma today?
More Pics @ MySpaceAntics.com: Yes.
Me: Where did you go?
More Pics @ MySpaceAntics.com: Go there (hand pointing to the window)....far far away...
Me: Oh. So, did you walk there or go by bus?
More Pics @ MySpaceAntics.com: Walk there.
Me: And what did you do over there?
More Pics @ MySpaceAntics.com: Saw the popo downstairs. All my favourite popo (as in neighbour granny).
Me: What are they doing there?
More Pics @ MySpaceAntics.com: Going India.
Me: Huh? Who is going India?
More Pics @ MySpaceAntics.com: Papa is going India.
Me: Huh? Papa going India? I have never heard Papa mentioning going India. Are you sure?
More Pics @ MySpaceAntics.com: Yesss....

The end.

Mind-Boggling Jigsaw Puzzle

Trenyce loves puzzles! Daddy bought her a few puzzles earlier last mth and that kind of cultivates her love for jigsaw puzzles. She started with a 12-piece puzzle, then 20-piece, then 30-piece and now she can even fix a 40-pieces puzzle! Above is a comical snapshot of Trenyce trying to fix up a 12-piece puzzle by herself. Not that we dont want to help her, but she doesnt allow anyone to touch the puzzles...hahaha

New Househould Investments

I recently invested in a really good, and really expensive juice mixer (bought just last weekend) :p The idea to get the juice mixer is really to get my girl back to her fruits routine as she currently doesnt take any fruits at all. This is really worrying..... The first night I got the juice mixer home, I started making some apple juice for her. She took a sip, commented "so sweet ah!" and ran away, refused to take in anymore sips. Yeah, it was sweet as I was using the africa apples but everyone in the family likes it except her *sigh* problematic ah!

But I must really share with you about this juice mixer (picture above), costs me about SGD$200+. Its fantastic! I love the convenience of throwing in the whole apples (but not the bigger fuji apples), without having to slice and dice much except for the bigger fruits like watermelon, rock melon etc. It is also very easy to handle, not too much hassle, washing the detachable parts is not too difficult! And it really 'squeezes' the fruits real dry till not a single drop of water can be seen! Very good investment yay!

The other item I bought was an iron. Errr...I havent started using it yet so cant really comment much on its benefits but is another expensive home appliance I got, costs me SGD$149...It's the most expensive iron I have used thus far...hope it wont disappoint me :p

Pre-Holiday blues

Yeah, I am having pre-holiday blues already even before the holidays are here....We will be going back to Labis next weekend to celebrate FIL's birthday. Since it coincides with May day, hubby and myself took a day leave to have a longer wknd...But till now, we havnt decided where to spend the long weekend *sigh*

I have searched thru the web for holiday resorts at Genting or A'famosa but they are already fully booked *surprised*....business so good ah...sigh...going to spend 4days 'nua' (aka laze) at Labis if still cannot find anywhere to go soon...

This will probably be SIL's & family last gathering at FIL's birrthday as they will be returning to Perth soon, coming June. So hubby and myself were thinking of having a family holiday somewhere instead of staying at Labis house, 'nua' (aka laze) around.....at least the kids will get to swim or something....Also, take this as a birthday gift to FIL....looks like not much hope already....

Will have to spend some time surfing again....before I wave 'white flag'....

Trenyce's 1st Pet

Have you seen tortise climbing up a tree?

PIL got Trenyce a pair of tortises earlier last mth (10 Mar 07). We named them Tammy (for the female) and Tommy (for the male). This is the first time Trenyce has a pet and also the first time, the house has a pet.....

If you look closely, you will realise one of the tortises is on the tree. Well, we didnt put her on the tree. She climbed the tree on her own! We were really amused by Tammy's silly act and thus prompted me to put this on the blog kekeke.... To think a tortise climbing a tree?!?!

Trenyce in action!

Trenyce is currently at this stage where she enjoys pretence games. One moment she will pretend to be a doctor, then teacher, then singer, then Elephant! etc....

1. Trenyce, the singer!

See how she sings! Really use her full lungs to portray the sound eh! kekeke

2. Trenyce, the future head mistress!

ahhh....she can be very fierce...see how she 'forces' the little puppy toy to respond after her...future head mistress quality? *shakes head* haha...

3. Trenyce, the artist

We bought some painting sets recently. Actually, its my idea...saw the kids from Playhouse Disney programs enjoying their painting session..and Trenyce looks like she very envys..so got the set for her, also take this opportunity to teach her colours hehe :)

She enjoyed painting so much that she is even willing to forgo the almost daily night routine -- strolling every other evening with the grandparents at the void deck, simply to wait for hubby or myself to set up the painting stuff for her.
