I wasn’t feeling well after the trip back from celebrating CNY at Labis. Can feel some pain at my lower abdomen. It was my 6th Gynae checkup. Baby is 21wk old. Mother weighed 68.1kg. Baby妹妹 weighed 330g.

7th Gynae checkup. 24wk 3d old.
Mother weighed 70.5kg and baby 妹妹 weighed 705g.

8th Gynae checkup. 28wk 3d old.
Mother weighed 72.3kg and baby妹妹 weighed 1.01kg.

20th April 2009, MONDAY, SINGAPORE
9th Gynae checkup. 32wk 1d old.

Conversation with Trenyce姐姐

Trenyce姐姐 posed a question to me this morning before I left for work.

姐姐: Mummy, why we haven’t visited Uncle Goh (referring to my gynae)for such a long time?

妈妈: That’s because when mummy went to see Uncle Goh, you are usually in school so you didn’t get to see. You missed seeing 妹妹 isit?

姐姐 nodded her head.

妈妈: Hmm… next visit mummy put it in the afternoon so you will be able to come along ok?

姐姐: OK!
I am glad that Trenyce姐姐 is showing concern for her little 妹妹. Mood:Grateful Milestone:4 years old

Our New Furniture (4th Apr 09)

Our new sofa and single bed finally arrived. The whole house was in complete mess. Hubby has to shift the furniture in the study room (originally the master bedroom) in order to make way for the bed. 爸爸 complained. Err, becos it’s the 3rd time he shifted the study table. Everytime when a new addition joins us, he will have to do so. No choice, my dear….our house is only this big =p

I was so tired wth all the packing and cleaning up. True, I have a domestic helper to help around but some of the stuff are rather personal so I cant let her to do the cleanup for me so in the end I have to do it myself. I was so tired that my body is aching the next day and I couldnt move myself, just wanted to ly on the bed!

Most of the things have been cleared up except for the kiddies' room. It is still in some form of mess. Trenyce姐姐 has been asking us every night when is her room going to be ready. She is waiting to move into her 'new' room and sleeps on her new bed. Currently, she is sleeping in the grandparents' room. Not on their bed but on the floor with the daybed mattress.

爸爸 has promised her that he will get it done this weekend. Seriously, we still dont know how to arrange the furniture in the room...partly beocs we are running out of space in the store room to keep some fo the stuff so its really a big headache now!

Well, I will leave it to 爸爸 to solve the problem haha =p

Kaden弟弟 is sick

25th -29th Mar 2009, WEDNESDAY to SUNDAY, SINGAPORE

Kaden弟弟 was not feeling well for the past few days. He was down with mild fever due to teething. Although the western doctors do not believe that teething will cause fever, it really was indeed the case. It started on Wednesday when hubby and myself discovered that his forehead was a little warmer than usual. We alerted MIL to keep an eye on him as the fever is behaving like yoyo, going on-off. This went on for about two days and on Friday, MIL announced that Kaden 弟弟 was having fever and had given him a dose of panadol syrup. This syrup can only be given maximium 3 times per day, every 6hourly.

Poor boy having 4 teeth (2 upper & 2 lower) erupting at the same time. He must be under a lot of pain, so uncomfortable that the usual cheery 弟弟 is now a very grouchy boy. I quickly boiled Lingyong (羚羊水)and barley water for him over the weekend, hoping to help him ease the fever. Luckily, the fever ceased on Sunday but another illness striked the next day!


30th Mar – 3rd Apr 2009, MONDAY to FRIDAY, SINGAPORE

We noticed Kaden弟弟 was coughing on Monday morning. It got worst in the night as he kept coughing almost every other hour. It was so bad that it disrupted his sleep and as a result, he couldn’t sleep very well. I didn’t sleep the whole night as well as he was extremely irritable by the cough and I had to pacify him to sleep. This went on the entire night and by the time dawn came, I had to prepare for work. Nevertheless, I dragged my feet to work. I was so zombie man!

His cough turned worst on Tuesday morning and we decided to bring him to the pediatrician if his cough did not improve by the time we return home. Well, we had to bring him to see the pediatrician afterall. Made an appointment at 7.15pm, it was the earliest timeslot we could get. We didn’t even get a chance to have our dinner and had to leave immediately for the clinic when we reached home.

We waited at the clinic for almost 45mins before its finally our turn. Dr Anthony from ABC examined Kaden弟弟 and he concluded that Kaden弟弟 had caught the flu bug. His coughing was caused by the mucus that he couldn’t dispel since he neither knows how to blow nose nor spit the phlegm. But it wasn’t serious so he doesn’t have to go through the ‘face mask’ to relieve the phlegm in case it ‘clogged’ his lungs. As usual, it was another sleepless night for me…..

I went on child mc the next day cos I am going to pengsan (meaning cant take it anymore in hokkien) already. Im severely lack of sleep. Its very unhealthy for a heavily preggy to go on sleepless nights. Well, no choice. True enough, I fell sick due to lack of sufficient rest even the 1-day child mc couldn’t help to replenish the lost sleep. I was down with running nose and cough for the next couple of days. Its very troublesome for preggy to fall sick as it will take a long time to recover cos basically there’s no medicine to take (无药可救) and I have to rely on ‘inner self’ (靠自己) to recover. Well, its not the first time anyway............

Mood: Uncomfortable Milestone: 13 months old

Play: Bear & Chicken Go Camping (21st Mar 09)

Bought tickets for 爸爸&Trenyce姐姐 to watch this play on 21st Mar 09. Seems interesting based on the synopsis given. This is a story about 2 best friends, Chicken and Bear go on a camping adventure and their discoveries in the Great Outdoors, like what makes a shooting star leap across the sky etc.... Its recommended for children betw 2-6 years old. Compared to Disney on Ice, I preferred to spend my bucks on something that's more educational. And by introdicing to plays, I also hope to expose her to arts and cultivate her interests in this area =)

Unfortunately, 爸爸forgot to bring camera so I dont know whats exactly they have watched but I can tell from 姐姐 expression that she enjoyed the show and she wanted more of such shows! Hmm...am thinking of getting the tix to ACE!2009 Festival for her to watch. There's a pretty interesting one called "How the giraffe got its neck".....hmm....

Cycling at home?

爸爸 bought a new bicycle....but you can only cycle at home =p The kids were busy exploring the bike when it arrived on Monday (9th Mar09). But they are not cycling correctly....look....

But if they were to 'cycle' properly, thats how far they can reach the handle bar. Kaden弟弟 demonstrating the right way to use it... kekeke

Going in and out of clinics (8th & 9th Mar 09)

Recently, I have been going in and out of clinics frequently for my 2 kids.

Firstly, Trenyce姐姐 ran into higher fever of above 39deg. We quickly sent her to our nearby 24hr clinic. Besides giving us Neurofen, the doctor also inserted a med capsule into her buttock to help relieve the high fever. As usual, I didn’t sleep for the whole nigh, waking up every 2 hours to check on her fever making sure that she doesn’t run into high fever again. Luckily, everything went well. She was still slightly feverish when she woke up the next morning so I quickly gave her another dose of fever medicine. Thank god that she was alright after that.

The following day, we brought Kaden弟弟 to Hougang polyclinic for his chickenpox injection. As it was raining that day, so everything went pretty fast as there wasnt many patients. We were done within 45mins including the queue to pay for the injection. This was the fastest I ever get everything done at the polyclinic! =p

I was also happy to discover that the drapolene nappy cream sold at the pharmacy was so much cheaper than anywhere I can find now! It costs $8.60 per bundle of two where it costs me $11.50 at guardian pharmacy where I usually got my stocks from. Guess how much I bought? A dozen! 爸爸 was shocked that I bought so much and asked me if its really this cheap and whether it will expire before 妹妹got a chance to use them hahaha! Of course you bet it is! Things are expensive nowadays so if don’t grab while on sales then difficult to save $$ loh. Mummies all very calculative (精打细算) otherwise how to maintain the family expenses right?

Shopping at Plaza Singapura (7th Mar 09)

Went to Carrefour (at Plaza Singapura) with inlaws & Kaden弟 弟 today as爸爸 had to bring Trenyce姐姐 for her music class at Yahama. Little boy is so happy, mumbling ‘mummum’ (meaning food) everywhere he goes in the supermarket as we were busy picking the offered food items from the shelves.

We also ordered 2 pieces of new furniture, a sofa set and a single bed, which will be delivered in early April. The decision to replace the daybed didn’t come abruptly. We had this intention to change our current ‘sofa’ aka daybed for quite a while and were thinking of buying only when we shifted to our new home. But guess buying a house is not that simple and we do not foresee that to happen any sooner as Im so near to my EDD. The main reason to replace the sofa is to prevent ‘future’ injury as we noticed that Kaden弟 弟 has gotten a few injuries as a result of knocking at the corners of the daybed. Most importantly, we are also afraid that we wont be able to watch over Kaden弟 弟 24hrs as our new addition is coming to join us very soon.

Bottle Tree Park (1st Mar 09)

Brought Trenyce姐姐 and Kaden弟弟 to Bottle Tree Park along the mrt track to Katib Stn. They have another branch at Sembawang Park but 爸爸decided to come here instead as its nearer to our place. Well, generally dont find anything 'exciting' here....say its kampong, well can see that they try very hard to design the place to be 'kampong' but the place just doesnt bring out the kampong feeling...err, know what I meant? Anyways, the place is more suitable for kids above 4yo so as usual, Trenyce姐姐 gets to enjoy herself while Kaden弟弟只有看的份 =p

Grandparents' 38th Wedding Anniversary

It will be PIL's 38th wedding anniversary tomorrow (28 Feb 09). As they will be going back to Labis to celebrate their anniversary over the weekend, we decided to get a cake and have a little celebration for them at home =)

Father, mother, happy anniversary to you both!

With the grandchildren....next year there will be 3 hehe!

As there isnt any wedding anniversary song, we replaced with the birthday song. Quite comical actually =p Well, that's the song the kids are farmilar with mah keke....
