Celebrating Auntie Doreen's Birthday (24 Aug 08)

We had a brunch buffet at Zhou's Kitchen (Anchorpoint) last Sunday to celebrate my sister's 36th birthday. This was the first we really brought Kaden out for my family outdoor gatherings, so far we have been 'hiding' at my mother's place whenever we brought him to visit the maternal grandma....

Coincidentally, we met a little baby boy at the next table. He is same age as Kaden, in fact only 5days older than Kaden! The little boy has attempted to touch Kaden several times only to be 'controlled' by his father (as he was quite rough) to touch Kaden gently.

Uncle Seahing's House (23 Aug 2008)

We went to Seahing's place for dinner last Saturday, main purpose was to meet up with Pastor Margaret. She was in Singapore for a religion conference. I personally dont know anything about her as she was a church friend of hubby's. Hubby has not seen her for a long time since he came to Singapore and so we popped over for a short gathering. It was a nice family friend's gathering.
Seahing has two kids, also an elder girl (Samantha) and a younger boy (Ryan). Girls being girls, Samantha and Trenyce enjoyed each other's company. At the end of the night, both of them became good friends. So sweet! :)

Teething Rashes

Kaden has veryvery bad rashes underneath his chin. I am so heartpained.

A search on the babycentre website and I found this:

"Teething Rashes

To treat a teething rash: If you see redness on your baby's chin and lower lip, it could be that the constant drooling is irritating his skin. Gently wipe away drool with a cotton cloth (don't rub) and apply petroleum jelly to the affected area before he goes to sleep."

The descriptions seem to match with what's happening on Kaden right now. Guess just have to be veryveryvery hygenie from now on. Mood: Painful

Kaden on solids (23 Aug 2008)

Kaden turned 6mo on Friday and I decided to start some solids for him. I wanted to start slow as I heard from a friend that her baby has indisgestion as she introduced too many varieties within a short span of time!

So on Saturday, I opened a Gerber sweet potatoes puree for Kaden. This is officially his first solid food and he loves it! He smiles at me whenever I tried to put the spoon near his mouth. His hands and feet will flip happily when he saw me preparing to put the spoon into his mouth.

So far, he has one feed each on Saturday, Sunday and Monday respectively. He has finished 2 cans of the Gerber sweet potatoes. I also bought some fruit juices from Gerber and Heinz. Trenyce will share the bottle of juice with her little brother. Kaden will take 2 ounces and the rest will go to her. Both of them enjoyed the juices and I am tempted to buy more for them although I have to admit that its not cheap.

MIL has also started feeding Kaden brown rice cereals today...so far so good. He enjoyed the food. Well, I guess he has the DNA from his father...so how can he not love food? Mood: Creative Milestone: 6 months old

Uncle Sam and Family in town! (19 Aug 2008)

Uncle Sam, ah yee, Joel, John and Joshua came to Singapore for a short holiday betw 17 - 20Aug08. I heard they havent been here for a while. Hubby took the opportunity to take a day off to bring them around S'pore before they depart on the 20th. They went to city for sight seeing then to Science Centre for the rest of the day. After that, hubby brought them to our humble house for a restbefore heading to Vivocity for dinner. I have reserved a table ("physically" reserved as they dont allow phone reservation) at DianXiaoEr. I am glad they enjoyed the food. Ah yee said its the best food she has tasted in Spore so far :p

Trenyce eating durians in Labis! (10 Aug 2008)

Trenyce after an attempt at eating durians in Labis recently...developed cravings for durians! She actually requested us to get some for her when we chanced upon some at a fruit stall! Back in Singapore, we have tried to tempt her many times but she refused to. We have never expected her to fall on love with durians in Labis. Well, also makes sense lah since we are so near to the durian kingdom, Segamat haha ;)

Trenyce and her mini durian, a free gift from the fruit stall uncle. The uncle refused to sell the durians to us as he said the durians are not 'good', I supposed he meant not fresh lah...

Kaden eating mango! (9 Aug 2008)

On the same day we went to visit Auntie Chong and she offered us some home grown mangoes. yummy yummy yum yum....Kaden saw the mango and his eyes started to glaze at the fruit while Trenyce was just the opposite. She cant wait to run away from the fruits!

Visiting Great GrandMother (9 Aug 2008)

We brought the kids to visit their paternal great grandmother at Segamat.
Needless to say, it was Kaden's first visit as well.
Hubby's grandmother was very happy when she saw Kaden.

Spending Time at Labis (8-11Aug 2008)

We went back to Labis over the National Day long weekend.
It was Kaden's first 'overseas' trip.
It was my first trip back this year.
All of us enjoyed ourselves.
It was a nice trip.
We havent felt so relaxed for a long time.

My Mighty Kaden

We havet started Kaden on any solids yet as nurses and doctors whom have seen him have commented that my boy is big! :p

He weighted almost 9.5kg and 66 cm long at the last checkup during his polio injection. He is 2 cm short to be at his current weight which means he is overweight :P Dont ask me why, I didnt feed him anything extraordinary, just Weyth S26 Gold milk formula :P But I seriously think its becos he hasnt slept through the night and so he is still having 6 regular feeds at 4hourly intervals instead of 5 feeds. But I also noticed that he didnt really have 6 full feeds as occasionally he will drop his last few ounces of milk so all in all, he is drinking about 33 to 34ounces. Not too bad as this is only 2 ounces in additional to his supposedly 32ounces per day :p

Anyway, we are not too worry as we are quite confident that he will lost his baby fat once he starts crawling. This was proven in his sister.
